Fairies I

Cicely Mary Barker was born in Croydon, South London in 1895 and died in 1973. Her ill health as a child caused her to spend most of her time at home. Being away from normal children's activities and school, encouraged her to learn how to draw and paint. She was famous for her illustrations of fairies and flowers and her fairy books brought her the most acclaim. Even until today her books are enjoyed by young and old.
