The Hunt European tapestry features a work based on an original woven in Brussels in the beginning of the 16th century. One of the favorite past times of the medieval period in the 16th century was hawking. Here we see nobility in a hawking expedition with their hounds, on horseback, in the countryside. The lively and intricate attire and dress of the hunters can be seen here as they use the senses of the hawks and hounds to hunt for prey. A castle and hillside is seen in the background.
