One of a set of original tapestries of which the earliest sketches are recorded in 1758, and woven at the Royal Manufacture of Gobelins in 1765. Faithful reflection of a gentle and refined time, this romantic scene is pictured in a medallion. This charming composition is set against a beige damask background, called alentour and is gracefully adorned with flowery garlands.
