The decoration of the palace of Darius was very inspired by that of King Nebuchadnezzar II in Babylon, with its wall and processional route covered in glazed mud bricks representing processions of animals: the lion of the goddess Ishtar, the bull of the weather god. The processional route was partly reconstructed and can be seen in the Vorderasiatique Museum of Berlin.
