Inspired from a tapestry by William Morris (1836-1896), famous British artist and designer and woven towards 1980. This scene symbolizes the "Quest for the Unicorn" by King Arthur's legendary twenty-four knights. The lion represents the most courageous of knights, who having hung their shields in the woods, set out to seek the Unicorn.  The shields represent the Knights of the Round Table.
