This tapestry depicts King Arthur as he would have been at the end of the 15th century. From right to left, watched by Merlin, Arthur with his future wife Guenievre pulls out from the rock the sword which identifies him as the legitimate King. Then he walks among Camelot’s towers and appears with the Knights of the Round Table. Trumpets sounding for the departure for the Quest of the Holy Grail is watched by the fairy Morgane who conspires against him.
