Hamlet is a jacquard wall tapestry made in Belgium. The original design was commissioned by King Sigismund Augustus of Poland, later to become Emperor. The artist was Michiel Coxcie of Mechelen and the work was completed in the mid 16th century. This and other works in his collection were roved back and forth to several countries, mainly due to wars, but now form part of the state collection housed in the Wawelburcht Castle in Cracow.
